Madeleine Bialke, The Mountains Call and I go, digital file, 2012.
Instead of doing Ceramics like I was supposed to (last day of wet work), or Printmaking like I was supposed to (critique tomorrow), I sat in my room and drew this little tshirt illustration NOT for Illustration, or any class. It felt good. (and then I went to the studio and got some work done, but doing art outside of a class assignment is pretty refreshing, even if it’s just a doodle)

Madeleine Bialke, The Mirror Behind the Model, monotype print, 2011.
Done at an evening drawing session last semester. Found the scan in one of my professor’s power point presentations that she gave me to look at while I was sick. Monotype created by reduction; q-tips on an inked plexiglass.

Madeleine Bialke, The Run-in Shed, oil on panel, 2012.
Looking out from the barn. It was winter, but snow is not the only suggestion of bitter cold.

Madeleine Bialke, Woe is Poe, digital illustration, 2012.
Portrait project for my illustration class. Often tacked up to unsuspecting peer worktables with the inscription “What would Poe do?”

Just a quick doodle/comic involving an incident one night over winter break with the dogs that I found quite comical.

Madeleine Bialke, What lurks in the deep, dark woods, digital illustration, 2012.
The wolf thought to himself, “Now there is a tasty bite for me. Just how are you going to catch her?” Then he said, “Listen, Little Red Cap, haven’t you seen the beautiful flowers that are blossoming in the woods? Why don’t you go and take a look? And I don’t believe you can hear how beautifully the birds are singing. You are walking along as though you were on your way to school in the village. It is very beautiful in the woods.”

Madeleine Bialke. Clay Point, oil on panel, 2011.
Taking a walk down to Lake Champlain in Vermont, a fall day, one of the best.

Madeleine Bialke. Audrey II, oil on panel, 2011.
A bright fall day, we were sitting on a picnic bench after our walk down to Beaver River. The day was warm so we took our coats off, and Audrey stared at the pine trees, lost in thought.
